Position Purpose

With the leadership and guidance of the Chief Advancement Officer and the Director of Development and Advancement Operations, the Development Coordinator will execute on database management and stewardship strategy. This position requires a goal oriented, results-driven person who can interact with the organization’s leadership to determine and accomplish annual objectives.  This position adheres to the annual budget in achieving goals and provides monthly updates to leadership, addressing the objectives, strategies, and outcomes for all assigned fundraising activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage the donor database, including data entry, gift processing, and donor acknowledgment.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential major donors, corporate partners, and grant opportunities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising strategies and campaigns to meet annual revenue goals.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including thank-you letters, donor recognition, and cultivation events.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile fundraising revenue, track expenses, and prepare financial reports.
  • Support grant writing and reporting efforts by gathering data, drafting proposals, and compiling grant-related materials.
  • Coordinate direct mail and email fundraising appeals, including segmentation, scheduling, and tracking of responses.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events, including logistics, volunteer coordination, and post-event follow-up.
  • Provide administrative support to the Advancement Team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and managing correspondence.
  • Stay informed about best practices in fundraising operations.

 

Position requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Goal oriented and committed to non-profit philosophy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working together as a team member for the common goals of Austin Street Center, including tasks outside of this job description.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to performing a variety of duties, occasionally changing from one task to another of a different nature with minimal loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office & Raiser’s Edge.
