Nancy K. Best

Vice President

Nancy Best has been actively involved with Austin Street Center for over 30 years as part of Shelter Ministries of Dallas, the umbrella nonprofit that supports both Austin Street and the Genesis Women’s Shelter. With a history of generous giving and service to the Dallas nonprofit community, Nancy specifically puts her time and talents towards helping Austin Street serve those who are experiencing homelessness and addressing the services and support that are needed to help people find permanent housing. As an active board member, Nancy works closely with our CEO, Daniel Roby, to plan for the future with vital fundraising, comprehensive services and innovative approaches so that Austin Street Center can help more people have positive outcomes and find permanent homes. Nancy’s impact on helping us achieve our recent Help Them Home Capital Campaign goal of $15 million cannot be overstated. Her belief in our vision and the need for a more modern and expansive facility to fulfill our mission translated into an unwavering determination to help us secure much-needed support. Nancy’s heart for the Dallas community has also led her to board service with New Friends New Life and with the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. In addition, she has shown steadfast support of Klyde Warren Park, a first-of-its-kind for Dallas “deck park” over a freeway that offers a vibrant green space for Dallasites and visitors to enjoy.
