Position Purpose

The Human Resources Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Director of People.  This position will provide administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and data entry. This role involves verbal and written communication with employees, organizational partners, and other parties as needed. The HR (Human Resources) coordinator may answer questions from employees about HR policies. This position will also maintain confidentiality regarding team members’ personal information and/or HR matters.

  • Work directly with and report to the Senior Director of People regarding all HR endeavors
  • Oversee Recruitment process which includes identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment contracts.
  • Onboarding New Hires (which includes scheduling hire dates, completing documentation and providing overbook of company policies, creating badge, etc.)
  • Ensure new-hire procedures are complete, including organizing employee orientation information, creating new employee files, creating employee handbooks, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted to appropriate people)
  • Organize, maintain and update employee information as needed
  • Assist with Maintaining Employees’ Time off Management System.
  • Make sure all employee records are filed correctly and kept confidential
  • Abide by company-enforced HR processes and current employment laws and regulations
  • Assist with Benefits Administration
  • Provide administrative assistance with termination procedures.
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests
  • Redirect human resources related calls or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person of the team
  • Oversee Organizations Event Committee
  • Schedule human resources events, and maintain human resources calendar
  • Assist with answering employee requests and questions
  • Coordinate employee training sessions and seminars
  • Foster positive employee relations
  • Support any other special projects the Senior Director of People needs assistance with
  • Support other functions as assigned.

  • Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, staff and community contacts and able to effectively address and resolve conflict as needed
  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse teams, build consensus, and motivate change

 

Skills / Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • 2+ years’ experience preferred
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality in matters pertaining to HR.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to individuals and groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; to deal with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
  • Demonstrates adaptability to performing a variety of duties, occasionally changing from one task to another of a different nature with minimal loss of efficiency or composure
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
